History

The muslims communities had already inhabited the place where Inhambane is found today in the 16 century, when the portuguese started arriving in the region.

However, it was only two centuries later that the last started dominating region close to the bay using political and economical systems, having around 1731 constructed the fence that stood out the captains and priest´s houses.

A visit to the local museum may offer you more details on history and the country´s culture.
