Tourism Minister's Message

The many potentialities for tourism with which nature endowed Mozambique make this country on the shores of the Indian Ocean a veritable paradise for all its visitors.

The volume of investments in the sector has greatly increased allowing the tourism industry to slowly come to the fore in the country.

Along these lines the government of this country prioritises the establishment of intelligent partnerships with the private sector as the only way to ensure the rapid development of our economy.

In truth, our country improves on a daily basis. Come visit us and enjoy the hospitality of its smiling people, its beaches, wildlife and marine fauna, the possibility of indulging in all kinds of water sports, our culture and gastronomy.

The tourist offers are clearly diversifying following the increasing investment activity taking place in the cities, along the coastal belt, in the islands as well as in the interior where investment proposals are being made for the establishment of nature parks and reserves as well as other points of attraction such as historical and cultural sites.

It’s also important to note that lately activity in the eco-tourism and safari sectors is on the increase with the recent establishment of the first national parks at Quirimbas and Limpopo and the expansion of the limits of the national park in Bazaruto.

In the central region of the country the Chimanimani area needs the necessary investments to become a great wildlife and forestry reserve park.
