Potential Impact of Tourism Development on the National Economic Strategy

The Maputo Corridor Development Project offers great opportunities for the growth of tourism accommodation and similar and complementary services. The project will make a major contribution to the greater development of the regional tourism market;
The Zambezi Valley Integration Project has great tourism potential mainly in what concerns the development of Ecotourism along the Zambezi river basin, in the Marromeu and Gilé reserves and at the Cahora Bassa dam;
The promotion of the development corridor of Nacala and Ntwara offering the opportunity for the establishment of hotels, restaurants and other tourism services;
The program for the rehabilitation of the areas of conservation which creates an opportunity for the development of safari and game-viewing in the centre and north of the country, specially in the Gorongosa National Park and Northern Cabo Delgado province:
The implementation of mechanisms facilitating the free circulation of people from the different countries in the region, which will increase the flow otf tourists from these countries into Mozambique.
