DPT – Department of Tourism Promotion

  1. To develop and support all activities related to tourism information and promotion both in the country and abroad.
  2. To draft and implement a national strategy for the promotion of tourism.
  3. To coordinate tourism advertising activities.
  4. To assist and provide advise to tourism promotion initiatives undertaken by local tourism committees and institutions of local administration.
  5. To promote the use of road signage and landscaping in the tourism areas and sites.
  6. To propose the creation of tourist information agencies in the country and abroad and guarantee their efficient running.
  7. To promote actions aimed at taking better advantage of the opportunities created by the adherence of Mozambique to the international hotel and tourism organisations.
  8. To identify, research and analyse the products on offer and current trends in order to effectively promote tourism.
  9. To gather, organise and process historical and operational data related to the sector’s activities and to undertake the photocopying of the ministry’s documentation and publications.
