Inhambane Province
Inhambane province is located in south of Mozambique, Its capital is Inhambane city, located about 500 km north of Maputo. With an area of 68,775 km², the province is divided into 12 districts.
Inhambane is bordered to the North by the Provinces of Manica and Sofala, to the South and East by the Indian Ocean, and to the West by the Province of Gaza, and is considered as perhaps one of the best quality touristic regions in Mozambique.
Besides the excellent beaches that stretch along the coast of the province and the Bazaruto archipelago, has the inside with natural parks where various species of vegetation and animals can be observed.
In Inhambane city, capital of the province, can occupy their free time to visit the local museum, monuments and places of worship that mark the passage of numerous people.
Moreover the island of Bazaruto Archipelago this province has many other fantastic beaches, like: Zavala, Závora, Guinjata, Tofo, Barra, Linga-Linga, Morrungulo, Chibanhane and Pomene.
Districts of Inhambane Province
Funhalouro
Funhalouro district is situated in the central part of Inhambane province, its town is Funhalouro. It has geographical boundaries, with the north with Inhassoro district, on the east by the districts of Massinga, Morrumbene Homoíne and on the south with the district of Panda, west is limited by Chigubo district of Gaza province and the northwestern and north of Mabote.
Govuro
It is located in north of Inhambane province; its seat is the village of Nova Mambone. It is limited geographically to the north with the District of Machanga; east to the Indian Ocean, to the south with the district of Inhassoro and in west is limited by Mabote district.
Homoíne
The district of Homoíne is situated in the central part of the province, with headquarters Homoíne. This district is limited to the district of Morrumbene on the north, east to the town of Maxixe; south by Jangamo, on the south with the district of Inharrime; west is limited by Panda and northwest by the district of Funhalouro.
Inharrime
The district of Inharrime located in the south part of Inhambane. Geographically, this district is bounded on the north by the districts of Jangamo, Homoíne and Panda, east with Indian Ocean and the south and west by the district of Zavala.
Inhassoro
The Inhassoro district along the north of Inhambane, its seat is the village of Inhassoro. The north borders the Govuro district, on the east by the Indian Ocean on the south with the districts of Vilanculos, Massinga and Funhalouro and west to the district of Mabote.
Jangamo
Jangamo is a district of Inhambane in the central part of the province, with headquarters. It has geographic boundaries to the north with the municipalities of Inhambane and Maxixe, east to the Indian Ocean, to the south with district of Inharrime and west with the district of Homoíne.
Mabote
The district of Mabote is Limited to the north with Machaze district of Manica and Machanga in Sofala, east with Govuro and Inhassoro, south and west with Funhalouro and Chigubo district of Gaza province.
Massinga
The Massinga District is a district in the central province of Inhambane, Mozambique. Its headquarters is the town of Massinga. It has geographic boundaries to the north with the districts of Vilanculos and Inhassoro, east to the Indian Ocean, to the south with the district Morrumbene and west with the district Funhalouro.
Panda
Is situated in south of Inhambane. It is located geographically limited in north with District of Funhalouro, north and east with district of Homoíne; south with districts of Inharrime and Zavala and west with Manjacaze.
Vilankulo
Vilankulo District is in the north of province. It has geographic boundaries to the north and west with the district of Inhassoro, east by Indian Ocean and the south and west by the district of Massinga.
Zavala
Zavala is a district in the south of Inhambane, its village is Quissico. It is bordered to the north by the districts of Panda and Inharrime, east and south by the Indian Ocean and west with district Manjacaze.
Vilanculos Beach
Located 705 km north of the Capital Maputo, and approximately 225 km from Inhambane
Bazaruto Island
Bazaruto Island is the largest island of the Bazaruto Archipelago, it is 780 km far from Maputo
Santa Carolina Island
Known as the Paradise Island is highly regarded as the jewel of the five islands forming the Bazaruto Archipelago, a proclaimed marine national park
Magaruque Island
A beautiful little Island just below Benguerra of the Bazaruto archipelago Islands.
Benguerra Island
Benguerra is the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, the island is approximately 55 square kilometers (11km long x 5.5 km wide), and lies 14km offshore at Inhambane Province.
