- To call for the elaboration and supervise the execution of activity programs for the sector.
- To promote and coordinate the drafting of guidelines for tourism and hotel development strategies, as well as for the areas of conservation.
- To collaborate in the formulation of tourism development policies and strategies and to ensure their implementation once approved.
- To propose the setting up of special funds to assure the development of tourism, hotel and conservation area activities.
- To evaluate the results of the implementation of activities planned for the sector.
- To keep the inventory of tourism, hotel and conservation area resources updated in coordination with the other departments in the Ministry.
- To propose investment priorities in keeping with development strategy.
- To draft studies and projects as well as to prepare the Ministry’s advice and participation in the discussion of the macro-economic policy of the country.
- To foster bi-lateral or multi-lateral international cooperation agreements in order to optimise the adequate development of tourism.
