Niassa National Reserve

This reserve was proclaimed by Decree nº. 2884 of the 23rd. July 1960. It is situated in Niassa province and covers an area of 42.400,00 km2 including a buffer zone.

It offers facilities for recreational hunting. Enquiries can be made to Sociedade de Desenvolvimento e Gestão da Reserva do Niassa (Association for the Development and Management of the Niassa Reserve).

How to get there:
By air from Niassa, Nampula or any other province in the country.

Protected Species:
The reserve is at the present moment the conservation area with the greatest number and diversity of wildlife species, from elephants to lizards.
